Opening in the heart of Los Angeles, at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures became the most important film museum in the world. Located on the famous “Miracle Mile”, the museum retains and gives new life to the former May Company department store of 1939. The Saban Building features six floors, including exhibition spaces, the 288-seat Ted Mann Theater, an educational studio, spaces for special events, conservation areas, a cafe, and a shop. The new spherical addition connects to the Saban Building via glass bridges and hosts the ultra-modern David Geffen Theater with 1,000 seats, 45 meters in diameter, and the panoramic Dolby Family Terrace with its sweeping views of the Hollywood hills.
